Temporary No Parking Application for Moving CITY OF PHILADELPHIA

Please read the following before submitting your application:
  • Please fill out the application in order to obtain a permit to use space on a City street for your move.
  • The fee for a moving truck will be $25.00 per 40 feet of space, per day. 40 feet of space is the equivalent of two (2) parking spaces.
  • The fee for a moving or portable storage container will be $40.00 per container, for five (5) days only.
  • The Streets Department Right of Way Unit will require a minimum of four (4) full business days of notice in order to process your request.
  • Once your application is complete and submitted, the Right of Way unit will review your information and contact you via telephone or e-mail with an invoice for payment or a request for more information.
  • Please supply the correct spelling of your first and last name, the address and location of the move, the length of the moving truck or the number of moving containers, the earliest time you will begin your move and the latest you will finish, a cell phone number for the day of the move and an e-mail address so we may e-mail you an invoice for payment.
  • Payment can be made by bringing or mailing a check to our office or online by credit or debit card.
  • After payment is made, you will be placed on the Temporary No Parking List. The Police should post signs the night before your move at or after approximately 6pm in order to clear space for your event. If the Police get busy, (shots fired, robbery in progress, etc) - the Streets Department cannot guarantee the signs will be placed.
  • If you would like, you can print out a copy of your permit and take it to the nearest Police District and they will give you Temporary No Parking signs you can post yourself. If you choose this option, please post the signs a minimum of 24 hours ahead of time.
